Amy Alznauer

Amy Alznauer’s writing has won the Annie Dillard Award for Creative Nonfiction, the Christopher Award, and the SCBWI-Illinois Laura Crawford Memorial Mentorship. Her books for children include The Boy Who Dreamed of Infinity: A Tale of the Genius Ramanujan (illus. Daniel Miyares, Candlewick, April 2020), Flying Paintings: The Zhou Brothers: A Story of Revolution and Art (illus. Zhou Brothers, Candlewick, September 2020), and The Strange Birds of Flannery O’Connor (illus. Ping Zhu, Enchanted Lion Books, June 2020). Amy holds an MFA in creative writing, teaches calculus and number theory classes at Northwestern University, and lives with her husband and children in Chicago.
